I am thrilled to welcome you to Forwood Elementary! It is truly an honor for me to be the proud principal of Forwood Elementary. I have the pleasure to work with an outstanding staff and an extraordinary school community. As a child, I went through the Brandywine School District for Kindergarten through 12th grade. After graduating from the University of Delaware, I began my teaching career teaching 5th grade at P.S. duPont Elementary School. In 2009, I moved to Forwood to continue teaching 5th grade. I was honored to be P.S. duPont's Teacher of the Year 2008, Forwood's Teacher of the Year 2011 and 2015, and Brandywine School District's Teacher of the Year 2015.
Forwood Elementary is a special place to learn and grow. We put children first as we create a motivating, challenging, and supportive learning environment for each student. Our students are kind, compassionate and hard working. Our staff members are lifelong learners who are dedicated to creating an environment where all students feel welcomed, safe and valued. We believe in a strong partnership between families and our school. Together, we can ensure success for your child.
Forwood Elementary is a family to me, which is why I chose Forwood Elementary for both of my daughters for their elementary years. They are now in 6th and 9th grade. I have a supportive husband and two wonderful daughters. I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to music, going to the beach, and reading a good book.
